Community & Stakeholder Engagement

Cunningham Partners delivers community and stakeholder engagement tailored to the project, its stakeholders and the agreed scope. We identify who is affected, understand their circumstances and establish appropriate ways to communicate and participate. Our work includes engagement strategies, stakeholder liaison, notifications, surveys, information sessions, facilitated discussions and consultation reporting.

 

We give project teams an accurate understanding of stakeholder concerns, expectations and commitments, and help them respond appropriately. By explaining proposed activities, managing expectations and following through on agreed actions, we support constructive relationships throughout the project. Our approach combines accessible communication with careful listening, practical judgement and a clear record of what has been heard and how it has been addressed.

Integrated Engagement Delivery

Integrated Engagement Delivery brings CP’s engagement expertise into the broader workings of a project. Through our IED™ Methodology, we develop a connected understanding of project purpose, stakeholder impacts, team responsibilities and emerging activity. We use that understanding to identify risks, recognise opportunities and address the friction that can slow decisions or complicate delivery.

 

Working alongside project managers and project teams, we investigate issues, connect information across disciplines and develop practical options for consideration. Our contribution can include strategic advice, coordination, engagement leadership, mentoring and support for existing engagement teams. We follow issues through, checking whether actions have addressed the underlying concern and bringing what we learn back into the project. This gives teams informed support as circumstances change.

Independent Review and Certification

Cunningham Partners provides independent stakeholder engagement reviews and certification within the requirements of the relevant infrastructure framework or project contract. We examine engagement records, consultation methods, stakeholder feedback and reporting to assess whether the evidence supports the conclusions presented and demonstrates that the specified requirements have been addressed.

Our work provides project teams with an independent assessment of how engagement has been undertaken, analysed and reported. We identify gaps, explain our findings and provide the review reports and certification statements required within our appointed scope, supporting project submissions, assurance processes and completion requirements.

Specialist Project Services

Cunningham Partners provides specialist project services that support effective planning, coordination and delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

Our services include drone photography and videography to document site conditions, construction progress and completed works. We also coordinate the design, production, printing and distribution of project communications, including works notices, newsletters, fact sheets and stakeholder updates.

We provide coordination and stakeholder liaison support for Property Condition Assessments (Dilapidation Surveys) and Noise Attenuation works. These may include acoustic treatments to individual properties, noise walls, acoustic fencing, and other noise mitigation measures associated with infrastructure projects.

Our involvement includes property owner and stakeholder liaison, access arrangements, scheduling, coordination with technical specialists and contractors, and monitoring outstanding actions through to completion.

By working closely with project teams, specialists and affected stakeholders, we help streamline delivery, manage potential impacts and maintain clear, consistent communication throughout the process.

Planning and Design Engagement

Cunningham Partners supports project planning and design through research, stakeholder engagement and analysis. We review available information, investigate the community context and consult with affected people, organisations and agencies to understand needs, expectations and potential impacts. Our findings help planning and design teams consider options, identify constraints and make informed decisions as proposals develop.

During design development, we seek feedback on proposed options and bring practical stakeholder insights back to the team. We document what has been heard, identify matters requiring consideration and support communication as proposals are refined. When decisions are made, we help explain the outcome, including how feedback was considered, what changed and the reasons for the adopted approach.
